We are starting with the eligible children aged 2-3 years and the children in the clinical risk group. We will be inviting these cohorts of patients in August to start the vaccinations week commencing 23rd September 2025. We will then be inviting the 2nd cohort of adult patients to book appointments from October 2025 as per the national guidance.

Flu can be a serious illness and the vaccine offers the best protection. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) indicates that excess deaths in England associated with flu infection were higher (14,500) than the average figure (13,500) for the 5 years before the pandemic as well as an increased number of hospitalisations.

Flu vaccination is recommended by the government for those who are most at risk of serious complications if they get flu. It is recommended by the government that Pregnant women and children should have the vaccine from September 2025.

Patients who are over 65 years and under 65 who are ‘at risk (with a certain health condition)’ should have the vaccine from October.
